Mayesh is a wholesale florist with a Los Angeles branch, a separate operation from the two Wall Street market buildings, and a much bigger company than most of the names on this list. They buy and resell rather than grow, which is what the sources label means.

They say they buy locally where they can. I’m listing that as their claim, not as something I’ve verified, because that’s the honest version: a national wholesaler sourcing some California product is a real and useful thing, and it isn’t the same as a farmer selling what they grew. Both belong in a directory that describes instead of ranking.

What they publish is a farm-direct programme: boxes cut to order by farms they work with, moved under their own cold chain, with staff posted at the growing end. Most of what that page describes comes from South America and from farms worldwide, not from California. Worth knowing, since it is the part they put in writing.

I’ve shopped there. What I was told in person is that they buy locally when they can, and I have no reason to doubt it, but I’m marking that as something said to me rather than something they publish, because those are different kinds of claim and this directory keeps them apart.
