I keep going back to Cory’s Cottage Gardens. That is the honest review: the flowers were good enough the first time that there was a second time, and a third, and by now the visits are just part of how I get flowers.

It’s dahlias, mostly: pompons wound tight as thread spools, a coral ball you can see from the gate, cactus dahlias in peach, all in beds that are staked, hooped, and labelled by hand. But not only dahlias: zinnias in every shade of sunset with bees already working them, cosmos, a field of marigolds running to the fence, green amaranth hanging in tassels, and one scarlet poppy that seemed worth photographing on a site called this one.
